Travel Methods

There are various engine types, many of which running off of the same basic theory. It relies on the ida of a “Fifth Dimension”, the curvature of 3D space it’s self.

The theory dictates, that one can via gravitational distortions, change the curvature of 3D space, and effectively “shrink” the space between two points.

The first true-speed engine is called a subripple. It is accomplished by sending out gravitons in a soundwave like form, causing ripples in the space curvature. This is basically like folding Space. This can, at maximum, divide space by 20.

The next engine type, is similar, but not quite the same, and more effective than subripple. It is warp drive. Warp drive works by sending gravitons straight down in a far more controlled fashion. The pulses are synchronized to create a far more wavelike bend in 5D. Ships are only capable of accomplishing warp drive via a system called a FDA (Fifth Dimension Analyzer). This device measures the surrounding 5D curvature, and thus adjusts the graviton output. The FDA can easily detect black holes, and even utilize them to create speed jumps. Cargo ships often travel along “Black Routes” (Paths of which that have multiple black holes) to enhance trade speeds.

Next up is worm drive. Worm drive is the ultimate execution of 5D manipulation. DeSWoPs (Deep Space  worm Probes) are placed along specified pathways. These DeSWoPs send massive jet streams of gravitons straight downwards. Eventually the entire distance between two points is folded, making a wormhole. You need only take one footstep to get from place to place, via this system. The only problem is that you have to get to a place first with another travel form, before you can travel to it via wormdrive.

There are many non-5D theories, such as the subspace theory.

Subspace theory is an ultimate travel system, if combined with worm drive – subspace is a separate trilogy of dimensions, according to theory.

Small subspace windows are opened to receive, and send messages over long distances, but make them be much faster. The theory states that physical particles (Ships being made of them) can be sent through subspace dimensions as well. If used with worm, this travel form would be millions of times faster than maximum possible warp drive. This theory is often referred to as EDT (Eight dimensional travel).

Another theory is called FDT (First Dimensional Travel). The idea is that you temporarily confine your mass to only one dimension, making the distance to a position much smaller. Used with warp, it could be an unknown advantage in comparison to worm drive.
